The Ordinary Hour
A hand-poured candle in unglazed stoneware. Scent notes: cold stone, distant rain, the last hour of afternoon light in a room you haven't been in for years. Burns for 45 hours. Each vessel is unique.
NOT AVAILABLE
I light it in the evenings now. The studio is gone but the smell is the same. Cold stone and something I still can't name.
$142

A waxed canvas tote in Fenland Green. Brass hardware. Unlined. Sized to carry exactly what you need and nothing else. Developed over 14 months with a saddler in Devon.

Still Life
A hand-thrown ceramic bowl in Bone White. Approximately 22cm diameter. Food-safe but also beautiful enough that you will hesitate to use it, which is fine. Hesitation is a form of appreciation.
NOT AVAILABLE
I eat from it every day. I have stopped hesitating.
$86
Standard Issue
A merino wool crewneck in Graphite. Medium weight. No tags. No logos. Fits the way you want a sweater to fit when you stop trying to make an impression and start trying to be warm.
NOT AVAILABLE
I still reach for the sample. It has gotten better. Everything good takes longer than you want it to.
$58
The Long Way
A linen tea towel in Undyed Natural. Woven in Portugal. 70cm × 50cm. Hemmed by hand. No pattern. No print. Just linen, which is exactly enough.
NOT AVAILABLE

Weight
A cast iron trivet in the shape of nothing in particular. Heavy in the way that good things are heavy. Heat-safe to 500°F. Made in collaboration with a foundry in the north of England that has been making things since 1887.
NOT AVAILABLE
It sits on the counter. I put the kettle on it every morning. It has not moved since I placed it there. That is the product.
$48
Common Hours
A leather bookmark in Dark Tan. Unmarked. 2cm × 18cm. Develops a patina over years. Ordered by 47 people in the first week. We made 47. That was all.
NOT AVAILABLE
The one I kept has darkened. The patina is beginning. I was right about the leather. The leather was right about time.
$94
The Considered
A small tray in spun aluminum. 18cm diameter. Matte finish. For keys, or rings, or the small things that need a place. Made in the Basque Country.
NOT AVAILABLE
$22
Remainder
A deck of playing cards. Standard 52 + 2 jokers. Card stock from France. Printed in one color. The jokers are identical. We thought about this for a long time.
NOT AVAILABLE
I play solitaire with the sample deck. The jokers are still identical. I still think about why.
$175
Slow Study
A brass desk magnifier on a weighted base. 5x lens. No case. Not collapsible. Heavy enough to stay where you put it. The kind of object that makes you feel like you have more time than you do.
NOT AVAILABLE
$420
First Light
A wool blanket in Oatmeal. 135cm × 200cm. Milled in Wales from undyed British fleece. Heavy. The kind of blanket you keep for 30 years and then give to someone you love.
NOT AVAILABLE
I kept one. It is on my bed. January was honest about it.
